Remarks Commonly found on the fringing reef during the day. According to Ngiraklang, who is said to be Palau's most knowledgeable fisherman, they move into the lagoon at night to feed on zooplankton. It has been reported that spawning occurs mainly from November through April, on the tenth or eleventh day of the lunar month. Fishers say terekrik form large schools that swim in circles while spawning. These schools are often harassed by large predators. In Ngeremlengui, spawning occurs early in the evening, on the surface, near the outer edge of the fringing reef. Terekrik are commonly caught with nets during the spawning period. According to local fishersmen, the size of the populations remain stable.
