Remarks 'Bronze', i.e., moderate yellowish brown color, from Italian 'bronzo' of ambiguous origins but may have come from Medieval Greek 'brontésion'from Medieval Latin 'aes brundisium', i.e., brass of Brindisi (a port on the Adriatic coast of Italy where in antiquity bronze mirrors were made (p. 80 in Ref. 11979); 'minnow', i.e., term used for any of various small fish that are less than a designated size and are not game fish, from Middle English 'menawe', related to Old English 'myne' and Russian 'men', i.e., eelpout (p. 757 in Ref. 11978).
