Max. size:  15 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range - 1000 m
Distribution:  Western Central Pacific: Molucca Sea (Indonesia).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 15-15; Anal soft rays: 18-18. This species is distinguished by the following set of characters: D 15, A 18, V 7; short chin barbel (less than half the head length); no luminous organs inside the mouth on the lower jaw; with 35 photophores of series IV; mixed-size teeth in jaws; snout extremely short (Ref. 123293).
