Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; pH range: 6.9
Distribution:  South America: Río Napo in Ecuador and Ríos Putumayo and Orteguaza in the upper Amazon basin in Colombia.
Diagnosis:  Vertebrae: 33-33. Diagnosed from all other species of the genus Bryconamericus by its low number of vertebrae 33, completely ossified pterotic, a bent end of the pelvic bone, and nasal bones absent (Ref. 56110). Description: D iii,7, ii,6-7; A iii,23, iii,21-24, iii,22-23, iii,21-24; P ii,9, ii,10-11, ii,9, ii,10-11; V ii,6 (Ref. 56110).
